Designing and editing *melanin- a book about the Afro-American community in the 1960s, people who treated them as a footnote. The book uses several texts, the main of which is the book "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. The book tells the story of the mades who served white families at the time, from their point of view.
Melanin is divided into five chapters that illuminate the burning themes of that period, and ends with the last chapter - The Arising, a catharsis after the harsh texts, accompanied by Martin Luther King's speech - "I Have a Dream".
The book combines bright colors that contrasts with the difficult historical images in black and white, and texts dealing with existential questions. Modern images in color, at first glance, seem pleasant and soft, but in the context of the accompanying text they are given a completely different context.
At the end of the book there is the text from which we had to start - "Between the margins and the center" by Zeli Gurevich, and some more historical documents which eventually became an appendix, referring to the main sections by highlighting in blue different sentences in the text.
